Senior Electrical Engineer
Capybara Energy is building a grid-scale battery system from the ground up. We’ve focused on safety, reliability, and real-world deployment. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who wants to take ownership of critical power systems, from architecture through hands-on implementation and testing.
This is not a leadership or management-track position. We’re looking for a strong contributor who thrives as part of a team, communicates well with diverse groups, and is driven to make the company as successful as possible.
Salary $85,000 to $120,000 (Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package with company-paid premiums and fully funded HSA)
Requirements:
- 4+ years of full-time, post-graduation industry experience in electrical engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics (inverters, rectifiers, DC/DC converters).
- Proven track record of creating electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, PCB layouts, and cabinet designs to guide production.
- Extensive experience with battery management systems and energy storage principles.
- Hands-on experience delivering high-voltage / high-current systems that meet rigorous safety standards for real customers or deployed products.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and/or embedded systems, including hardware–software integration.
- Experience using electrical CAD tools, lab equipment, and diagnostic tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in renewable energy, grid-scale storage, microgrids, or related fields.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus)
