Description
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with a specialization in Robotics. Tenure on appointment is possible for senior candidates. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a thriving research program in robotics. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, wearable robotics, human-robot interactions, and physical AI, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related eld by the date of employment. Candidates must have a strong record of publications in top journals and conferences related to robotics.
The individual hired will be expected to teach courses in Robotics and Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels, engage in scholarly activities, pursue external funding, and support PhD students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to department, college, and university eorts in support of an academic culture in which all faculty, students, and sta can thrive to their fullest potential.
The successful candidate will become aliated with Lehigh's Autonomous Intelligent Robotics - AIR Lab, a collaborative and interdisciplinary hub for robotics research and education. The AIR Lab brings together faculty and students from Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, fostering a collaborative environment that bridges theory, experimentation, and real-world applications. As part of I-DISC (Institute for Data, Intelligent Systems, and Computation), the AIR Lab benets from broad faculty support for grant development and academic events. The lab also maintains strong partnerships with clinical institutions and research centers, including collaborations with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Lehigh’s Center for Community-Driven Assistive Technologies (CDAT), providing rich opportunities for interdisciplinary impact.
